Georgia buildings where zoning decides the design
Metro Atlanta multi-tenant properties rarely want one building-wide announcement. Tenants share a lobby and a garage but very little else, so zone boundaries tend to follow lease lines, and the head-end has to let a property manager reach common areas without broadcasting into occupied suites.
Film and television production facilities are a Georgia-specific case. Stages need silence on demand, so paging into a shooting space has to be zoned out or defeated locally, while mill space, support areas and production offices still need normal coverage. Working that separation out at design time is what keeps the system from simply being switched off.
Distribution buildings near Hartsfield-Jackson and along the I-16 and I-95 corridors serving the Port of Savannah have the opposite requirement: continuous, high-intelligibility coverage across large open floors and yards, through shifts that never really stop. Augusta medical and defense-adjacent facilities and the manufacturing plants around Macon and Columbus each fall somewhere between those two extremes.
Humidity, storms and staying available
Georgia summers bring humidity and storm-driven outages. Exterior speakers, dock horns and yard paging need weather-rated hardware and mounting that sheds water rather than holding it. Head-end amplifiers and controllers belong on protected power, because an announcement system that drops with the utility feed is unavailable in exactly the conditions where a building most needs to reach people. That side of the work is covered under power protection.
Service, rezoning and expansion
Most audio calls KSEDCO takes are not new buildings. They are dead zones, failed speaker circuits, amplifiers past their service life, or a zone plan that no longer matches how the building is used. Existing systems can be assessed, repaired, rezoned or extended rather than replaced outright wherever the installed infrastructure supports it.
