Start With Measurements, Not With a Product Choice

SureCall builds FCC-certified cellular signal boosters for commercial and industrial buildings. Which unit belongs in a given building, or whether a booster is the right answer at all, is settled by measurement rather than by a specification sheet. What the survey has to establish

  • Carrier, band, level, and signal quality at candidate donor positions outside the building.
  • Indoor readings taken where people actually report failures, at representative times of day.
  • Building loss: what the glass, floors, wall assemblies, and below-grade space are costing you.
  • Whether the outdoor signal is strong enough and clean enough for an amplifier to work with.
  • How much physical separation exists between a workable donor position and the indoor antennas.

If the outdoor signal is weak, or if the building needs capacity rather than coverage, an off-air booster is the wrong tool. That conversation belongs under in-building cellular and DAS.

Georgia Buildings Where These Systems Earn Their Place

Coverage complaints cluster around a handful of building types across the state.

  • Metro Atlanta office towers. Coated curtain wall glass, concrete cores, stairwells, and attached parking decks are consistent dead zones, and the decks almost always need antenna runs of their own.
  • Logistics around Hartsfield-Jackson. Air cargo buildings and cross-docks are wide, metal-framed, and full of moving equipment, so coverage has to follow dock doors and staging lanes instead of a uniform grid.
  • Production stages and their support buildings. A sound stage is effectively a sealed metal box; crews depend on phones, and antennas have to be placed clear of sets, rigging, and grid work.
  • Port of Savannah and I-16 distribution. Very large footprints mean long cable runs, and the loss budget is what decides how many amplifier locations a building really needs.
  • Augusta, Macon, and Columbus. Defense, medical, and manufacturing facilities in these markets frequently carry approval requirements that must be settled before any transmitter is energized.

Limits Stated Before the Order

A booster amplifies what already exists outside; it cannot create a signal. It relays commercial carrier traffic and is not a substitute for a public-safety radio system, which is a separate code-driven requirement on different frequencies with its own acceptance testing. Boosters operate with carrier consent and under the FCC rules for the class of device being installed, and every certified unit has to reduce gain or shut down if it interferes with the network. Saying this early keeps a coverage project from being judged against a result it was never going to deliver.

Humidity, Lightning, and Uptime

Georgia summers bring heat, humidity, and frequent thunderstorms, so the donor mast, coax entry, and equipment ground need proper bonding and surge protection, and outdoor connectors need weatherproofing that will still be intact three years later. Storm-season power loss is the other half of the problem: an amplifier with no standby power stops working during exactly the event that drives call volume up.
